The Great Exhibition Road Festival is a free annual celebration of science and the arts each summer in South Kensington and online.
Festival attendees enjoy hands-on workshops, fascinating talks, performances and installations from iconic museums, research and culture organisations, including Imperial College London, the Royal College of Music, Science Museum, V&A, Natural History Museum and many more.
The festival itself is based on the Great Exhibition of 1851, held at the Crystal Palace in Hyde Park organised by Prince Albert.
Today, the Great Exhibition Road Festival pays homage to its prototypical event by showcasing ground-breaking science and arts hosted on Exhibition Road an area also known as Albertopolis which was created with the profits of the original exhibition.
